The 2026 show ran 18 to 20 September at Newby Hall. No 2027 autumn dates yet; the spring show is 22 to 25 April 2027 at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre.

The Harrogate Autumn Flower Show runs Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026 at Newby Hall, near Ripon, HG4 5AE. Gates open at 9.30am and close at 5pm each day (flowershow.org.uk).

The first thing to get right is the venue. The autumn show is at Newby Hall. The spring show is at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre in Harrogate. The organisers put the warning on their own FAQ page, which tells you how often people turn up at the wrong one.

Tickets and prices

Tickets are from £29.00 a person, per day, pre-booked. All three days are priced the same (tickets page).

Points worth knowing before you book:

  • Tickets are for a specific day and cannot be exchanged or refunded once bought.
  • The £5 early booking discount has gone. It ran until 11.59pm on Tuesday 1 September 2026. Full rates apply now.
  • Children 0 to 15 go free, but a free ticket still has to be booked at the same time as the accompanying adult’s.
  • E-tickets only. Print them or show them on a phone. The organisers do not post tickets.
  • Tickets stay on sale up to and throughout the show, so you can still buy on the day.
  • VIP parking, closer to the entrance, is an add-on bought with the ticket.

Parking and getting there

Parking is free and on site, and the car parks open at 8am, an hour and a half before the gates (parking). Blue badge parking is close to the main entrance, allocated first come first served. Coach and minibus parking is free and on level grass.

By road, use HG4 5AE on the sat-nav and then follow the yellow event signage rather than the sat-nav, which is what routes you to the right entrance and keeps the queues down.

By public transport the picture is thinner (getting here):

  • Newby Hall sits just outside Skelton-on-Ure, reached by the 82 and 84 buses from York and Ripon.
  • The 36 runs every 30 minutes between Leeds, Harrogate and Ripon, but that only gets you to Ripon.
  • There is no dedicated shuttle bus between Ripon and the show. The organisers say so explicitly.
  • Nearest station is Harrogate.

Cycle racks are available inside the event, and Newby Hall is on the Way of the Roses coast to coast route.

On the day

  • No dogs, other than registered assistance dogs.
  • Most of the show is under marquee pavilions, so the organisers say it goes ahead whatever the weather.
  • There is an ATM on site but it charges for withdrawals. Exhibitors, retailers and food outlets take cards.
  • Wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be pre-booked through Advanced Mobility Solutions on 01274 297777.
  • A Plant and Product Crèche stores what you have bought while you carry on looking round.
  • Newby Hall’s own gardens are part of the show programme.

The show is run by the North of England Horticultural Society, a charity registered as number 702017, whose registered address is at Newby Hall itself.

The same Sunday, up the dale

If you are in the area on Sunday 20 September, the Nidderdale Show is on the same day at Bewerley Park, Pateley Bridge, HG3 5BD. It is a working agricultural show rather than a flower show, and it is a good deal cheaper (nidderdaleshow.co.uk).

TicketAdvance, before midnight 19 SeptOn the gate

Car parking is free. The day starts at 7.45am with the open equitation judging and finishes around 5.30pm to 6pm with the show jumping. Trade stands and marquees are open 9am to 5.30pm. Dogs are allowed on a short lead but not in the marquees, and must never be left in a car. There are no banks in Pateley Bridge, and the nearest cash machines are at the Dales Market Corner shop on Bridgehousegate and outside the Spar on the High Street.

What it means for you

  • The flower show early booking discount has already closed, so there is no saving left in booking ahead. Book for the day you actually want and check the weather first, because the ticket is non-refundable.
  • Arrive from 8am if you want a short walk from the car. The gates still open at 9.30am.
  • If you were relying on a bus from Ripon, there is not one. Drive, or take the 82 or 84 to Skelton-on-Ure.
  • Sunday 20 September is doubled up. Both the last day of the flower show and the Nidderdale Show are on, and both draw traffic onto the same roads north and west of Harrogate.

Live closures and rail work are on our roadworks and travel page, town centre car parks and charges are in our guide to parking in Harrogate, and there is more in things to do in Harrogate.
