  • Hours: 9.30am to 5pm, Sunday 9.30am to 4pm.
  • Where: Great Yorkshire Events Centre, sat nav HG2 8NZ, entered from Wetherby Road onto Railway Road.
  • Tickets: £5 online early bird, £7 online after that, £9 on the door. One ticket is good for any day.
  • Children under 16 go free with an adult. Pushchairs are not allowed; there is a free buggy park.
  • Parking is free.

What it is

An indoor Christmas shopping fair of about 180 stalls: gifts, food, fashion, decorations and homeware, all under one roof. The organiser, UK Grand Sales, runs the same kind of fair at Ascot and Cheltenham. It says the Harrogate show is being expanded this year to give visitors more room, and the cafe and restaurant move to Hall 2 in 2026 (UK Grand Sales).

The fair’s sponsor is the breast cancer charity Pink Events, which runs a raffle and tombola on the day. Its top raffle prize is a Mulberry Bayswater handbag worth over £1,000. The organiser says the charity raised over £7,000 at last year’s fair, and this year hopes to fund a calm, non-clinical room for patients with additional needs, autism or severe anxiety.

Tickets

Prices are the same for everyone, the organiser says: there are no concessions. What there is:

  • £5 online early bird. The organiser says early bird tickets are on sale now, but does not publish the date they end.
  • £7 online after the early bird ends.
  • £9 on the door.
  • Accompanied children under 16 are free, and so are carers: book the ticket for the person you are with and tell the front of house staff.
  • Every ticket is valid on any of the four days, so if you cannot make the day you planned, go on another. There are no refunds.

Online tickets arrive as e-tickets by email. Book by phone on 07766 376410 and the tickets are left at the door (UK Grand Sales: FAQs, PDF). The venue’s own listing carries the same three prices (Great Yorkshire Events Centre).

Pushchairs, wheelchairs and dogs

This is the rule that catches people out. Pushchairs and buggies are not allowed inside, because of crowding at peak times. There is a free buggy park, watched by staff, and baby carriers are available free at the entrance, with help if you have not used one before (FAQs).

Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are welcome. No pets are allowed, apart from guide dogs and assistance dogs, and the organiser asks to see the dog’s licence card. The venue says it can arrange wheelchair and scooter hire through a local company if you contact it first (Great Yorkshire Events Centre: FAQs).

Parking and getting there

Parking is free, on site, with stewards directing cars and priority spaces for blue badge holders. For sat nav use HG2 8NZ and come in from the junction of Wetherby Road onto Railway Road (Great Yorkshire Events Centre: location).

Without a car:

  • Bus: the 7 and X70 run from Harrogate town centre to the Sainsbury’s on Wetherby Road. The venue says it is then less than a mile’s walk round the edge of the Showground to the main gate, and the organiser calls it “a long walk”.
  • Train: Harrogate station is about 2 miles away, with taxis and buses. Hornbeam Park station is about 1.5 miles away and linked by the Showground Greenway footpath and cycle path, but there are no taxis there unless you book one.
  • Bike: there are bike racks outside the venue.

Road closures and works on the Wetherby Road side of town are on our Harrogate roadworks and travel page. If you would rather park in town and bus out, the charges are in our guide to parking in Harrogate.

More Christmas markets

The Great Yorkshire fair is indoors and paid. The district’s outdoor markets, including Knaresborough on 5 and 6 December and the Little Bird Made market in Valley Gardens, are on our Harrogate Christmas market page.
