Vinyl-only house duo Precinct play Major Tom's, Harrogate, 8pm to 1am on Saturday 7 November. Free entry, deep house to acid, and every record on vinyl.
Precinct, the vinyl-only DJ duo of Al Bradley and Steve Lipscombe, are back at Major Tom’s in Harrogate on Saturday 7 November, playing from 8pm to 1am. Entry is free, and the flyer promises “all vinyl, all night long”.
It is the latest night in a residency the pair now hold at the venue. They play the whole evening themselves, from the first record to the last, rather than turning up for a peak-time slot.
What the night sounds like
The duo describe a night that builds slowly. Early on it is warm, hypnotic deep house and spacious dub techno; later it moves into tougher tech house, acid and the odd turn into electro and breakbeat as the room fills. The flyer lists deep house, tech house, dub techno, acid, electro and minimal.
“No rigid playlists, no chasing trends and certainly no shortage of records,” their release says. “Just a couple of DJs taking their time to build a proper night out.”
Al Bradley put the reason for playing only records plainly: “As vinyl-only DJs, we also want to remain authentic to the original ethos of ‘two decks & a mixer’, something which is rare nowadays.”

Why Major Tom’s
Bradley says Major Tom’s is “really the only space in Harrogate pushing underground/non-commercial electronic music, which we feel is something to shout about”.
The venue runs several other nights in the same vein, according to the release: Stray Beats (minimal and tech house), Archive (drum and bass and jungle), Loose (tech house and disco) and Benguin (hip-hop, broken beat and house).
Precinct say their earlier parties there have drawn growing crowds, with “familiar faces returning and a genuine enthusiasm for music that doesn’t always get an airing in the town’s more conventional nightlife spots”.
Where the duo have played
The pair have taken the night beyond North Yorkshire, with recent dates at Lubber Fiend in Newcastle and Eastern Bloc in Manchester, and Bradley mentions earlier events in Leeds and London too. “We’re really keen to continue the growth here in Harrogate,” he said.
Both are connected to the UK house labels 3am Recordings and Dragon Parade. 3am Recordings, the release says, has held residencies at the original Sankeys in Manchester, repeat in Berlin, Distrikt in Leeds and the Horse & Groom in London, and has played fabric in London, Smart Bar in Chicago and Culture Box in Copenhagen. A Precinct vinyl EP on 3am Recordings is due later in 2026.
You can hear the label’s output on 3am Recordings’ SoundCloud and buy it on Bandcamp.
